Benecos provide a range of organic cosmetics and skin care products combining the best of the conventional aesthetic with certified, resource-conserving organic cosmetics.  Silke and Stephan want organic cosmetics to be available to everyone and price them with this philosophy in mind.  What does the name mean you may wonder?  Bene = ‘good’ in Latin, and ‘cos’ = cosmetics.

Azar Moayeri, the founder of Parissa, was the first female Chemical Engineer to graduate from the University of Edinburgh.  Originally from Iran, Moayeri moved to Canada in the 80s which is when she  noticed that the only hair removal products available were chemical lotions, bleaches or creams.  This is when she saw the opportunity to start a new home based venture.

To this day, Parissa remains a family affair, which although it has expanded internationally it continues to manufacture, package and ship products from its award winning eco-facility on the beautiful north shore of Vancouver.

LIP BALM

It was Brad’s love of bees, woodworking, and his wife, Anika, that created Portland Bee Balm. Anika was searching for a more natural, effective lip balm, and Brad was keeping bees. True to their DIY spirit they took the beeswax from their hives and set out to create a high-quality product that reflected the social and environmental values they hold true.

Portland Bee Balm is made with beeswax from Pacific Northwest hives, adding a select handful of carefully sourced organic and local ingredients. Then the balms are wrapped in real wood.

The business supports the health and well-being of the environment, community, and of course, the bees and their keepers.

Portland Bee Balm is available in Unscented, Oregon Mint and Rose Garden.

Speick (pronounced 'Spike') is named after the medicinal plant, Speick, which has a calming effect on the central nervous system, while simultaneously stimulating the autonomic nervous system. The Founder's vision was to harness the benefits of this almost forgotten plant and to make it accessible to people again.

Founded in 1928, the family owned business is now managed by third and fourth generation family members. 

All Speick products (except Make by Speick) contain the worldwide exclusive precious extract of the medicinal Speick plant, which grows wild in the high alpine region, and is certified as being from biologically regulated wild harvesting.

Speick is the continuation of a vision held for over 90 years, combined with an awareness of the environmental and social fabric which weaves together the family business and the alpine farmers.
